I am a 21 year school bus driver. I started driving Motorcoach in 2016. Your information is priceless, I only wish I found you back when I started driving and had your information and advise. Especially to get advise with driving in D.C. On my first trip to D.C. I was lucky to be on a 3 bus move and I was bus #2 so I was doing the follow the leader and did the best I could do to take it all in while navigating the streets and the nightmare of finding parking! Making sure my log book was updated when the DOT was in the area where I was parked at. After a few trips to D.C. I did figure out the bridge your not allowed drive on, after going over it more then a few times. I thought it was very irresponsible of my company to not inform me about the bridge, I figured well, if I get caught and get a ticket, my company will pay the ticket because they should have told me about it. People complain about roundabouts, I tell them you have not seen nothing until you are driving a Motorcoach bus and trying to navigate the 3-4 lane at any time of the day or night roundabouts in D.C! I have never driven to NY City, so that is on my driving bucket list! I think to myself I must be crazy to drive a Motorcoach bus in all the big inner cities I have navigated through, but I just remind myself, I love driving Motorcoach, so I will just continue to do my normal white knuckle driving and pray!

Thank you, Sandra! I’m glad you found it helpful. Before you go to NYC, there are some helpful podcasts here about driving motorcoach in NYC, too, that you might enjoy. DC and NYC are my two favorite places to drive!
